Post subject:  Help needed for vintage Navitimer 806

I am quite new to vintage Navitimer but recently became very interested in the Navitimer 806 as I realized it is a beautiful piece with quite a bit of history. There seem to be many variations in dials.
I saw this piece online but I am not sure whether there is anything wrong with the dial and case. Can anyone help me by giving some advice on this piece?
Here are a couple photos of the dial and case.
Thanks all!

looks fine from the outside. The lume has gone dark which is super common, but the rest of the dial retains nice white finish, including the slide rule, which is good. I think its nice honest piece. Would date to 1968/9.

Thank you!
Yes you are right, should be around 1968 with a 122xxxx serial number.
I still need a lot of learning about the Navitimer dials.
I am still confused that some have the red colors on the dial but some don’t. Some have different things in red......

And I guess this one was supposed to have some red that turned to a yellowish/orangish color?

The red is just faded. Around 1967/68 the dials show up with boxed red, like yours, and the the boxes go away and return to a red accent design with no box. These seem to be just to make it easier to align the dial and slide rule.

I don't know the history of this particular piece, but I did learn to use a circular computer in flight school a million years ago. 10 and 60 are used so much that they are typically highlighted for easy reference. The interior 60 is normally highlighted as a triangle because it's the denominator in speed calculations. The 10s are often highlighted in some fashion as well as many occasions require a 10-base calculation to solve for a per unit answer.

Depends on price. The darkened lume plots a big negative for me. To each his own.

True that a more yellowish patina on the lume would be nicer but unfortunately, it seems like almost all the Navitimer from this era seem to have a darker color rather than yellowish like Rolex or Omega.
I think it is because of moisture that gets inside the case?

Not true, there are plenty out there with yellow/gold patina if you are patient.
