Would like folks opinion on this watch. Looks like a pretty good mark 1.1 dial but case appears to be mark II. However, I am very new at looking at these watches and would love some of the experts thoughts.

Thank you.

Yes, well observed. It’s not correct.

Thank you for the help earlier in this thread. Was wondering what folks thoughts were on this watch. Seems like a pretty good mark II to me.

Hands seem ok to me and serial number seems to line up for the time when you would have a red chrono hand. Hand seems more orange here but looks like lots of orange examples out there (wonder if that is just fading, they did orange hands or replacement).

Dial also seems correct to me with just a single t after Swiss made as it should be and otherwise ok. Case looks like it has been polished but still sharp. Movement also look right to me.

I would really appreciate anyones thoughts on it and if I am off base. Seems like so many fraken examples of this watch out there (especially at dealers).

Sorry for links as I can't seem to upload pictures to the site.

Nice find! I’m also pretty new to Vintage Breitlings. I saw the same watch on omegaforums a few weeks ago. I thought he wanted a bit much for that case. Hopefully he’s reduced the price. I’ve also seen them both with red hands and orange hands. But many more of them have orange hands. So to me it looks good. Dial has a few pits and there’s a small scuff on the tachymeter at 6oclock between 120 and 130. To me these are minor but just wanted to point them out in case you missed them. The hands and crown look original.
I’m not at all an expert on movements. But I’m curious to know whether those 2 rusted screws are supposed to be there. One is by the start pusher and the other is across from it on the other side of the watch. Many examples I’ve seen do not have either of those screws. Since they are the only things rusted on the watch, maybe they aren’t original to it??? Don’t believe its a big issue either way. Just something I’ve noticed from looking at these.
Others with more expertise will probably respond to your post soon. A lot of great collectors on this forum.

Thank you. Hadn't noticed those screws. Had noticed the few things on the dial and the one thing that also bugs me is the Swiss kind of runs into the sub-dial.

The 'rusted screws' are case screws used to anchor the movement into the case or movement holder. Usually the movement in an 810 is held in place with a movement holder (Ring) which I don't see in this watch and could be missing. These screws may be required for this movement as it doesn't have a movement holder (which should hold the movement snuggly in place and stop it feeling loose). I don't think they are original to the watch.

I ended up buying the watch and want to thank those who gave me their thoughts and was able to use info gained in this thread to help on negotiations. Anyway here is the watch and I am very happy with it. Hopefully I have finally figured out how to imbed the picture.

Also, plan to hang around here and lend my knowledge I have learned in the search and try to learn more about these and other great Breitling vintage watches which I think are really under appreciated.
