Since watches weren't produced using cases in numerical order, it would be a bit ficticious to try to guess between 1952 and 1953 case-delivery dated watches and what dial they have...

a sales office was there in 1950, afaik the "official" move was 1953, but nothing truly conclusive, I'll keep searching.

re "cut off" - we also should remember that serial numbers are case production, not assembly, for some models we see almost a decade of "transitions" here, best example are the 769 steel cases (I have not seen a single case produced after 1947 and the watches were advertised, assembled and sold until the mid/late 1950) or the 765 AVI where steel cases from 1953 were used until ca. 1959.

Fred - remember I have a 1947 dated 799 which was delivered to owner only in 1962 (including in a "Geneve" box) and all of the documentation to support it.

I would guess just nos whether from distributor or Breitling.
