My husband's vintage Breitling Navitimer was stolen recently from our home. We have the serial number and other documentation on the watch. Is there any place where this should be registered in the event that the person who stole the watch tries to resell it?

That sucks.

Nothing official here, but you could post the info if you wish.

I don't have a photo to post at the moment but the Serial # is 1089733, manufactured in 1966. It is a chronograph Cosmonaut Navitimer. We understand it was coded for identification in the event of theft by a watch repair shop. I will also be in contact with them for additional information.

You can register the stolen watch here:
http://www.artloss.com/en

They hold a searchable (at a cost!) database for dealers to check that watches are not stolen. You will need to pay a registration fee.
