Hi all. Recently acquired a 2002-33 Top Time. Serial number 10496xx. 36mm. I'm looking to replace dial because refinish that was done years ago is awful. My questions for anyone who has any insight are as follows:

1. Was told movement is 7733, but serial number seems pre-Valjoux. Am I off base here? My caseback has the -33 stamped on in different font and it's my understanding that Breitling did that with some 2002's to use surplus casebacks in years later.

2. I'm assuming if I go forward, I need dial and tachy ring or is it even separate? (ring was redone poorly as well). Can I go with just dial alone that has tachy on it?

3. Finally, what diameter am I looking for? 29MM? or 32MM? Does it matter with these Top Times what the movement is like other watches?

Any insight would be very appreciated. I'm into this watch cheap. All's good except dial. Looking forward to the hunt to replace dial. Just need to know what to look for.

Thanks,

Chris

congrats on that acquisition; 1049xxx is quite early for a 7733, but Breitling clearly had no FIFO stock management, we've seen such examples;
no "surplus" casebacks, but complete cases were on stock for years.

I have not seen ref. 2002 w/ "non-ring" dials, all had tachy rings - and the bad news is that I haven't seen a decent replacement dial pop up for sale for years and never a correct and nice tachy ring, so you'll need a lot of patience, I'm afraid.
