I recently bought a secondhand Breitling Navitimer Valjoux 72 1st generation , I just am wondering about the logo since it doesn:t have AOPA engraved in it. And above it it only says Bretling . What do you think I will soon take it in to repair it but before then I was just wondering if anyone can tell me around when it was made and or anything else they might think I:m interested in or is important. Thank you for your input |

can you please post larger/better pics ? hands are not indicating an early v72, bezel beads look big; missing AOPA lettering inside the logo would not worry me per se, pieces that were sold outside the US had the Breitling logo above wings without AOPA inscribed, though I am unsure whether such dials existed for. V72s; others will chime in regarding that. |

I can only upload a 200kb photo onto this forum but if you want me to zoom into anything I can send a zoomed in photo of it ![]() |

any watchmaker will do that for you. Takes a second, but better don't do it yourself. |

first indication on the logo and the hands , you wont find a Valjoux 72 inside but a Venus 178 both OK for this watch but the 178 is much more common than the V72 , also the 178 is from a later date (56 onwards) would really have to see the inside of the caseback for the serial number and the movement to accurately date it size of the beads on the bezel and the symmetrical position of the pushers would indicate a venus 178 , not a Valjoux 72 |
