I would have liked to see the response of Enigma to what you have just discovered , too bad that no one (Ebay, Chrono24, auction houses , law enforcement etc) really cares

Well I haven't yet banned his latest username yet so plenty of opportunity for him to respond.

well, member "Enigma" was another multi-personality member; our dear Mr. Schmitter/Durner/cuervo and more - we succeeded in closing this one down quite well, lost his paypal & chrono24 contract, still quite unsuccessfully tries to peddle his junk on ebay :o

as Roff says, Mr. Maerz is actually a sad person; "80% of all vintage Breitling watches in the world", yeah, sure. Though he might have 50 ebay seller accounts set up who try list his junk; list, shill bid, sell, relist, sell, relist, shill bid - an endless circle of pathetic delusions ......

an enlightened, clairvoyant lonely sage who trolls the net; Paul sent me a nice quote from his website some weeks ago, claiming it was "by far the biggest and most successful watch site on the internet". :wowzers

This latest username actually posted effectively the same thing in the Introduction thread that I moved out of Vintage on the weekend. Posted that I must be so proud to have the 2nd largest Breitling forum on the web. I deleted that post because the new member didn't deserve to have his thread derailed but the enlightened one genuinely believes this garbage in his own mind.

Clearly there is little point trying to rationalise with someone who repeatedly registers here despite knowing full well that no one believes a word that he says, these are not the actions of a reasonable man, but what a waste of time and energy.

Thanks for the pics, i am going through some documentation and see if i can find some references that will shed some light on this, right now i like this watch better than the 95-82 that the OP posted
A least its referenced in the 1952 catalog and looks unmolested

pfew.. no pressure , right ?

"Analytical mode 'on' "

Here's my train of thought and where I stand at this moment , but I have been known open to persuasion to move to a different point of view when good arguments are presented

94-28 from Cal_11

PRO:
-: Model 94-28 is documented in the 1952 catalog (see Bill's earlier post)
-: it looks unmolested and untouched , nice crisp dial , case and movement

CON:
-: Watch is 50+ years old, why is there no trace of patina on the dial , hands etc , it almost looks too clean for a 50+ year old watch
-: 3 lines of numbers on the inside caseback , why ? do we have any other undisputed pieces that have this ?
-: Cannot find another undisputed 94-28 to compare
-: Why the 17 jewel movement and not 21 or 25 when other bidynator movements used by Breitling were 21 jewels during this period (Unitime)
-: Why no BOW when other watches with bidynator (Unitime) had this
-: Why no 'breitling watch corp swiss' on the inside of the caseback where other watches with bidynator had this ?
-: Why is there an undocumented 95-28 around (see post to auction from OP) that is only 40 pieces removed from cal_11's watch (according to serial number from both watches) that looks exactly the same but with a different ref number ? did Breitling suddenly during the middle of manufacturing and mid year decide it was time for a change ?

I know these are weak arguments

but until I find some good reference watches I am not saying 'genuine' or 'franken/fake' but will sit on the fence for now
I would however not spend any money on it right now if it came up for auction unless provenance to this watch was provided

Again, just my train of thought so please dont put any value against it as I am hardly a Breitling expert

joining you on the fence - no undisputed reference piece & you raise valid points, Renè - the 17 jewels is quite convincing, actually, why would Breitling use a different (lower grade) base movement for these pieces ?

what production year is this from, assuming this would not covered under the NDA ?

If we are referring to the moonphase watch in pics above, why does it have "Automatic" inscribed if is a 1952 watch? I may be missing something though since I am gate crashing the conversation. Automatics only came in 1969, correct?
