Had been looking for an early GP Navitimer for some time, but either they were questionable,
or just above the price bracket I was willing to accept.

Then a project watch was listed - in really sad state, BUT it came with the original mid 50s box
AND the original user manual, issued by Breitling Switzerland and stamped by Wakmann in NYC
- actually a must have for Fred the crazy collector.

Will prepare a little restoration documentation, so just a teaser first, the listing pic :wowzers :

Any one care to venture a guess as to the color of the stripes on the shirt when we see the first wrist shot? :P

Seriously, can't wait to see how it turns out.

still putting together the pics and description for the restauration process, to quote Craig : "what a project this was !"

but some pics of the current state, including the blue striped shirt.
for me, one of the most beautiful Breitlings of all times.

thank you, Craig, for this wonderful resurrection.

I knew when I first saw that collection of parts for sale what the end result could be. Glad to see I was correct. Nice catch Fred and another great job by Craig.

Absolutely gorgeous!

This should now be the reference thread for the next few "is it really worth sending my watch to chronodeco to fix" questions.

Big congratulations Fred (and Craig).

thread was resurrected by one of our short stay spamming guests - but it gives me the opportunity to thank Craig again, this watch is a pleasure to wear; surprisingly elegant, really.
