Hello guys - This is my first time to this forum. I'll get to the point first, then introduce myself later not to waste anybody's time reading through the blah, blah, blah. Here's the question? Did Breitling ever make a Navitimer 805? I ask this because my neighbor has one that was his step-father's and he is getting rid of it. At first I told him that I would help him sell it, but I have fallen in love with it and its one-owner history. I am concerned, however that the case back (snap-on) might be the wrong one, and if this so I might consider that the watch itself might have been altered. The case back reads 805. It has the traditional breitling logo and not the AOPA, indicating that it is not the first run of the Navitimer. It has a signed winding crown. We both guestimate the production date circa 1960 +- a few. I know that the watch had been serviced about ten years ago, but now the chronograph will not engage. Forget that: My concern is 805. It 805 reserved for Datora only, or were there a few Navitimer 805's as well?

(My first Breitling was a new Hercules. I had an Aerospace, but I gave it to my dad beacuse he could never keep his nice auto-watches wound. Ha. My current Breitling is a really cool late 60's (I think) 45 min datora with red sub-dials and a checkered dial. I would like to discuss that one later.)

Thank you one and all who might offer information regarding the 805 Navi.

Cheers-

I don't recall ever seeing a Navitimer 805, as you say they are Datoras. If you can post pictures we can give you a better idea of what it is.

It was an 806. Sorry. Thanks anyway.

 I was going to say that often the 806 looks like it says 805.

Well yes, 806 is a common enough Brietling. Early Navitimer. Liike Roff says, if you can post some pics of the front and back, someone here will comment.
