according to this article , a Breitling 1190 in 18K Gold

So who else is bothered by the 'Breitling' script on the back ?, I know I find it suspicious

"There was no doubt about which watch he wore on big occasions, however. It was arguably the best one he ever received. It was pink gold and given to him by Pirelli, the tyre manufacturer, in the 1950s. It was a Breitling."

"In August 1951, Ferrari received his most treasured watch, a Breitling, which he later gave to a driver (Gigi Villoresi) in a fit of generosity. It was a chronograph in pink gold – model 1190, series 79748(9) – bore the mark of the master watchmaker no. 353, and had a 14-inch Venus 188 caliber. It also had the Prancing Horse logo engraved on the case with a burin and, although it’s not 100 per cent certain, Villoresi’s watch was very probably the same watch given to Ferrari by Pirelli."

Well the Breitling script logo certainly isn't original - makes you question the whole thing!

well, it could have been Breitling Italia or the distributor (they were extremely active in the 50s, Giro etc.) who did the Ferrari logo engraving and decided to add the Breitling logo next to it, Enzo was quite the celebrity already and co-branding Ferrari and Breitling would make a lot of sense, would like to see more of this watch, a dial pic would be nice.

Btw, the 1190 18K gold pieces have now officially tripled in prices , as it was 'Enzo Ferrari's favorite watch' :D

I wonder how long it takes for this to catch on on Ebay " Breitling Cadette 1190 18K Gold as worn by Enzo Ferrari !!" BIN $25,000.00

p.s. the master watchmaker no. 353 (Hallmark) is not one I associate with Breitling so it may have very well been a Chronograph suisse ?
And since this watch wasnt bought by Enzo by given as a gift we may never know

very similar in SS , ref 1190 w/ Script on the back and in the same serial number range

SS looks extremely similar.
That 1190 back does not look like a CS 18k back, very, very rarely these are totally unbent, as they are paper thin.

Interestingly I do have the same Lemania 18k Chronograph pictured here, tempted to try that Enzo's watch spiel. Not really, but ......

here it is, as worn by Enzo Ferrari; actually nice, quite large for the days for an 18k watch, 38mm
frankly, between the (questionable) 1190 and this my choice would be an easy one ...
