we have a long record of hunting down ruthless sellers (1 in particular), here’s one more.
I just saw this watch for sale on Chrono24, with the below comments.

One of the rarest vintage Breitling watches
The Breitling 'referenceless' Navitimer with Valjoux 72 movement from 1954 !
You will be hard pressed to find a better example , if you can find any at all for sale
This particular watch is in excellent condiction with only the smallest radium oxidation on the hands
The watch has not been restored or polished in any way

I’m sure that it is the same watch as this one

There’s no doubt at all, as I pointed out, that the case has been restored, and seller should know better than to state as he does, especially when he is a big time user and a highly appreciated member of this Forum.

Kurt ,

its probably semantics but its not restored, nor has it been polished

you claimed that the case had been modified and the lugs were shortened

I tried to figure out how that would be possible as the lugs would have been shortened by cutting a part off the lugs and redrilling the holes for the pushpins. But if you cut off the lugs and redrill the holes ,which would then be closer to the case , the push pin would actually touch the case , which they do not, and you could not fit a strap anymore

The watch isn`t just rare, it`s unique now and IMO far away from being perfect !

Would anybody spend big money for a not period correct 55 year old Porsche Speedster or a Riva Aquarama
with major design changes ?

I haven't got the expertise to comment on the watch but i might venture to suggest that this matter is unlikely to be resolved without acrimony on a public forum. Perhaps a few quiet PMs would have been a better way to initially raise concerns and might still be advisable. Both Kurt and Rene have friends and admirers on the forum. I'd hate to see either reputation damaged by a wider (and i think unnecessary) debate. At the risk of overstepping the mark, can I suggest we "walk away" and let the two gentlemen involved put their heads together?
