Hard to tell without more details.

The dial looks original, but likely not salvageable.

Looks like a ref 178 with the wrong crown. I'd leave the dial alone and just have the rest of it restored.

That's a fairly rare dial in a case that is bigger than most. I would leave the dial as is - only seen one other in 10 years. Would like to know the numbers on the back - maybe ref 179?. I have plenty of parts to fix any Venus cal 170. Good luck with this one, Craig

Thanks for the input guys!
here are some more pictures I just received.
the watch sold "as is" would be around 300USD.
I've got a trained breitling watchmaker friend who can probably help me with the service. but when it comes to hands and crown. are they "impossible/hard" to get? Or am I just wasting my money here ending up with a watch that I won't be able to use?

Pre '44 serial number so unsigned bridge is possible, although I don't like the finish on the bridge being different from the rst of the plates - that makes sense (sometimes) if the bridge is replaced with a signed one, but not sure about here.

Nothing screaming wrong though except for the crown as Paul pointed out.

Try and squeeze the $300, but not an awful price.
