Looks similar to one version of the 2002 Top Time, though the crown should be signed. Hands look correct. It breaks my golden rule though - never buy without seeing the movement - there could be anything in there! |

whats a reasonable price for 100% correct toptime? i know you can say what the market will pay but what i am asking is what the vintage kings would pay? |

Chrono24 is a reasonable guide as to what the market will bear - http://www.chrono24.com/en/search/index ... TERIAL_ID= Bear in mind that those are asking prices though, and often dealers. Theone that Gonzo posted looks like a very good example, and with papers could easily be a $1,500 watch and conceivably more. However the lack of a movement shot will keep some buyers away so I'm not sure that it will get that far - although of course you only need two bidders to send it up there. |

Hi, this was given to me (new) on my 21st – 1961 – so I can guarantee it’s genuine, but no papers I’m afraid. (Tried to upload pictures - too large a *.jpg file and wouldn't accept a *.pdf) Hasn’t been used since 1984 – bought a Sea Dweller (sorry) and has been laying in the drawer ever since. Condition cosmetically as shown, working with all the normal stop watch functions and runs for more than 24 hours on 1 wind. Just went into my local AD, he had a plastic bag with an assortment of Breitling leather straps at a very old price. One fitted perfectly so being very old myself, I bought a black one, black leather with white stitching. Not the original type but nice. Read the comments regarding having to look/take pictures of the movement. Fine - but I understand that you have to take the glass out to remove the mechanism. Not very practical I guess if your not a watchmaker with the correct tool.............  Suggestions??? |

Well it needs some watchmaker care and attention after all this time anyway, and no real risk as the crystal will also need to be replaced. We have a member here - chronodeco (Craig) who might be able to help you out on the service / restoration. |

Yes it is a bit grubby on the outside, but nothing that a little soap wouldn't cure. I guess sitting there for 25 years doing nothing is bound to attract a little gunge. As I said the watch mechanism seems to be fine but a new glass wouldn't go amiss. Do you have a contact for Craig? |
