I am very new to this forum and Breitling watches. I am looking for a couple of watches and I really like this onehttp://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=260509054999&ru=http%3A%2F%2Fshop.ebay.com%3A80%2F%3F_from%3DR40%26_trksid%3Dp4712.m38.l1313%26_nkw%3D260509054999%26_sacat%3DSee-All-Categories%26_fvi%3D1&_rdc=1
I am so new at this that I need the help of the experts here. First is this real or fake and I am interested to know how rare this watch is. I appreciate all of the help so far and I will post pics of my new purchases once complete.

Good lord!

That watch is a hideous fake. You definitely did the right thing asking here first. That watch is a no name watch that someone has tried to scrawl Breitling all over to make it worth something - stay a long way away.

Keep posting things that take your fancy and we'll set you straight!

I've never seen that type of movement used on a Breitling before...

what movement is it anyway?

Yes – be very careful. Breitlings especially can be dangerous as for a modestly sized watchmaker back in the day, it’s surprising how many different genuine models there really are.

So even seasoned fans sometimes come across genuine Breitlings from yesteryear which they hadn’t seen before. Things like crowns and hands tend to be the first items to be swapped over, which isn’t a huge deal. But with something like that – it’s like a mystery meat sausage. Maybe worth $5.

Don't recognise it from memory - I'll check my BestFit when I get home and try and match it up.
