Would like to see better movement pictures, but certainly looks like a good buy for a European buyer - a bit pricey for the US given the current exchange rate.

It's 18k and gold is currently over $1100 an ounce. I don't think it's a bad investment. If it was a Premier I'd have bought it already. :D

Fair point.

I'm just a little wary in paying a premium for an element of the watch that I'm not necessarily getting value for. The gold only has any 'real' value if you melt it down (which of course is a travesty), otherwise it's a functional element of the watch. It's definitely a factor in pricing, but if you want to sell the watch in 5 years and gold is back at $700 in a better economy (and with a stronger US$) then you lose out.

I guess it's really down to what you think will happen to gold!
