This Navitimer is being described as an estate peice. They recently posted some addition pics at my request. Can some of the experts here add their opinion on this watches condition and authenticity?

From the looks of it, everything looks okay... I would like a pic of the crown too. Can't comment on the date because I don't have a book. As far as the dial, I know that certain years have a certain "look" to them.


These era Navi's are so confusing. :lol: but someone will come along and add some more input.

Serial is 1970 which is correct for a large sub Navi. Hands look good, case looks fine.

I would like a better shot of the movement so that the bridge engraving stands out better, and the condition doesn't look great.

The only things that make me a little wary is that there are some characteristics of that 178 which look odd - the chopped off balance cock for example. I'm not as familiar with these later ones so it may be a design update, but there are a couple of differences between this and what I would consider a 'normal' 178.

The chopped off balance cock is correct for the late Navitimers after end of 1969
