Can anybody help me.
I have a Breitling Cosmonaute that was given to my uncle by the Shiek of Oman in 1970.
My uncle,Trooper Tommy Tobin was in the S.A.S and was fatally wounded in the Battle of Mirabat in 1972 and was wearing the watch at the time.
Does anybody know where i can get any information about the history of the watch as only a few where issued
serial number 1305235 ref 809

Serial number is for a 1969 watch and information on the Cosmonaute is here - http://forums.watchuseek.com/showthread.php?t=4034

I'm not aware of any special edition issued by the Sheik of Oman / to the SAS but it may simply have been that a number of 'normal' watches were bought and issued.

So was there a LE / special version for Oman? I know of the Iraqi ones, but not Oman.
