I have a Breitling 7806 which is unusual on two counts; Firstly it is still as new in its original box and secondly the back bears no model or serial number instead it is engraved with the Jordanian crown and Hussein Bin Talal in Arabic. It was issued to me in 1973 when I was an R.A.F. flying instructor seconded to the Jordanian air force to train their pilots on fast jets and I never wore it because I already had a Rolex triple date chronograph which I preferred, has anyone seen this version before?.

Welcome to BreitlingSource!

It's a fairly well known and documented edition - largely because there weren't too many of these 'branded' watches at the time, unlike now.

It is in very good condition by the looks of it - just please don't run it now without a service. After 36 years I'm guessing that the oils will have broken down.

I really don't know actually...

it's actually a bracelet... mesh style... a bit like the superocean heritage series... but I'm kinda looking for another bracelet... I have a spare leather strap but I prefer metal to my wrist than leather... :D

Welcome to Breitlingsource misterenigma. Beautiful piece, love how's it different. As Wetty said, would like to have one

I definitely recommend following Roff's advice regarding getting it serviced before you start wearing it. From personal experience I can confirm the breaking down of oils after a period of time.

This one?

Cool watch, but not surprisingly, I'd have gone for the Navi! The wizz wheel does it for me!

Of course, there's a little more time in a 172 than a Hunter!

Hello,

Yes, that is the same Rolex triple date which I still have somewhere, this is also in its box and has the original guarantee dated 23 September 1953 which is when it was bought for me by parents after I gained my pilot's wings at R.A.F Cranwell, happy days.....!

Thankyou for the advice about not using the watch until it has been serviced however, after having given the matter much thought I have decided to sell both the Breitling and Rolex to a local jeweller who has expressed an interest in them as they are no longer of use to me because I no longer fly.

Mr E, you're missing the most important thing. Pilot watches aren't about flying, they're about looking cool! "Yeah, I got this out in the Middle East when I was in the RAF."
