Hi,
Can anyone tell me when this was made or any other info about it?

Wakmann "Gigandet" Incabloc 3 Waterproof on the Case is #2008, I'm not sure if thats a model number or serial number.

Gigandet refers to Charles Gigandet who was the owner of Wakmann. There are a few Wakmann watches that have his name on the front - this style and without the Charles, as well as the overall look of the watch suggests 1940s to me.

The Incabloc system has been around since the mid 30s I believe so that's consistent and my guess would be that the movement is a Valjoux 72 - that's consistent with the era and the 3 sub dials, although I am making an assumption that it was fitted with Incabloc - I don't know.

Thanks, I am trying to work out when it was made. That helps to narrow it down. Do you think the 2008 is the serial number? Regards, Rod

I'm not familiar with Wakmann serial numbers - if it were badged as a Breitling it would be a model number - too short for a serial of that period as far as I know - Breitling model numbers were typically 3 or 4 digits.

The other possibility is that the caseback is not original - not that unusual in watches of this era. I assume from your post that 2008 is the only number on the outside of the case, but do you know if there are any numbers on the inside of the caseback?
