The vast majority of vintage Breitlings on eBay are fake. Definition is about as simple as it gets - they weren't produced by Breitling. I have seen very few Landeron powered Breitlings that are generally accepted as authentic - less than a handful. On the other hand there are very many Landeron powered Clebars, Zodiacs and other brands that people try to fake ad Breitlings. Why do I get the feeling that this thread is being trolled....... |

Roff, What about the Breitling Clebar like this one on eBay: http://bit.ly/W9wd3o Is that a completely different watch altogether? What do you mean by being trolled? |

Nothing there began life in a Breitling factory. Just look again at the low quality logo on the bridge, and again a non Breitling import code on the balance cock. There are no definitive 'rules' for a Breitling with a Landeron movement, in fact there are no hard and fast rules for any vintage Breitling, but to even be considered a piece would have to have consistent case and dial and be consistent with a 1930s design. 99% of those will still be fake which is why we always ask for clear photos of all pieces being considered. |

How do you guys think would be the best way to sell it? I want to either sell it on a forum or eBay, and I want to make sure it is represented correctly. Should I just sell it as a 3 Register Landeron 42? Not looking to deceive anyone with the Breitling dial. Just want to get some money out of it and move on...Any suggestions? Also, how much so I expect? $300 range? Thanks again! |
