I know they have made a "football watch", but I cant say if this is a frankenwatch or something else... maybe the experts can shed more light on it?

Jeez, need to hit the books on this one.

There have been a few football (soccer) related watches over the years, but a football superocean seems a little odd.

Need to do some more research before I can comment.

I don't know if I have problems with this or not. The seller is claiming 1958, based on the serial number, which makes this an incredibly early SO (the first was 1957).

The concept of a football watch that is also a superocean, is a little odd - I guess football and diving are both sports, but you don't think about football as a sport that needs a lot of water resistance.

The SO does have a rotating bezel, so it's entirely possible that this is correct, I've just never seen anything like it.

The World Cup was held in Sweden in 1958 so it ties in with it being a limited edition.

Or a clever con man!

That's quite a nice looking watch..... apart from the HIDEOUS "Football" wording on the bezel!

I can't comment on the provenance of this watch as my interest is primarily modern Breitlings, but just to say that the 2008 Reno LE is a Superocean Heritage, so I guess the concept of relating the type of watch (i.e. diver's or pilots, etc) to the type of activity the LE is for doesn't really enter into it. Hence this one could be correct.

True. This seller is reasonably reliable, and I don't see anything wrong with the watch, it's just a little odd to me.
