Getting close to one month now and still going strong!
Last weekend was my mate's wedding, it was tough. It was a VERY social event if you know what I mean yet I managed not to smoke!
Tomorrow is a Dragon Boat Festival in Hong Kong, another social event. I believe I can make it.

RXPete, yes you are absolutely correct, weed in a strict sense refers to dope.
Apologies about the mixup.
I have only tried dope twice in my earlier years. The first time it felt great, the second time I thought I was going to die. Never touched it since.
Fortunately, I can say that my body has been exposed only to alcohol and cigarettes over the years.
Hopefully I can keep it down to one now :-)

First off congrats!

I think dope refers to like H here not weed. But let's be honest weed is a lot better for you than tobacco or alcohol will ever be. Have you noticed the fittest state, co, also has a high percentage of weed smokers? One gram of nicotine will kill you. Alcohol will destroy your body and mind in excess. Marijuana doesn't.

Ummm. No. Not true. Sorry. A common thing for those who enjoy marijuana to bandy about, but has no scientific support in favor, and quite a bit opposed. You live your life as you see fit, but do not delude yourself, or others, into thinking it is "safe". Sorry.

Did you really "need" to throw that in there? Prove it's bad for you and I will recant my statement, however until then, I will enjoy it along with millions of other people.

Just a quick comment guys - last time I checked, the use of Marijuana generally ranges from not entirely legal to downright illegal in many countries (with a few obvious exceptions), so while I'm not passing any judgement on anyone's personal habits, I can ask that we refrain of extolling the alleged benefits of non-prescription drug use here please. Thanks.

"Proof" in medicine is nearly impossible. Correlations and statistical prevalence's can be discovered, but "proof" is simply not realistic in most circumstances. There were "studies" in the 1950's that "proved" smoking unfiltered tobacco cigarettes increased your life expectancy by 20 years. Failing to control for appropriate variables will doom even the best designed study. That said, our methods and review processes have improved, but a stunningly few things have been "proved" in all of science, let alone medicine. Einstein's Theory of Relativity is a widely accepted theory, but still just that, theory.
That said, the following abstracts in the last year alone are quite compelling and have been borne out in renown, peer reviewed journals:

Adverse Health Effects of Marijuana Use
Nora D. Volkow, M.D., Ruben D. Baler, Ph.D., Wilson M. Compton, M.D., and Susan R.B. Weiss, Ph.D.

Respirology. 2014 May 15. doi: 10.1111/resp.12298. [Epub ahead of print]
Cannabis smoking and respiratory health: Consideration of the literature.

Subst Abus. 2014;35(1):60-7. doi: 10.1080/08897077.2013.804483.
Alcohol, tobacco, cocaine, and marijuana use: relative contributions to preterm delivery and fetal growth restriction.
Janisse JJ1, Bailey BA, Ager J, Sokol RJ.

That's enough. This is a watch blog :lingsrock: . But I am a scientist and science, not opinion, needs to be defended when threatened. Again, you live your life however you see fit. I am the strongest possible defender of personal liberty, just do it with your eyes open.
