The rumors that our mods are actually highly advanced software with with optical scan recognition and programmed responses is a myth and I have proof! Last night Scott and I had dinner in North Scottsdale, AZ, with Roff and I can attest he looks nothing like a a heap of binary code. He appears all flesh and bones, though there remains the "alien possibility, but when can that ever be ruled out? :D We had a very nice time and Roff is a pleasant fellow with a good, albeit sarcastically seasoned, sense of humor. And...he picked up the tab

In all seriousness, it was a very nice time. Now what we all want to know - what watch was he wearing??? The bronze Genta. I set it on my wrist and it looked rather like that 60mm Paneria on H2F. :poke:

Cheers Roff. Look forward to the next time in 2014 when Scott will get the tab. I will be suddenly absent in 2015.

Thanks Sharkman, I thoroughly enjoyed the evening, just sorry that my flight home was so early today otherwise we may have shut the place :-)

Am definitely lobbying for Phoenix / Scottsdale to be on the itinerary again for next year.

No, I was inhibited by Scott's Chronomatic SE and Roff's Genta. I was stuck with a plain old Navi 01 LE on a black calf.

That would've been a fun dinner! Maybe a little closer to Newcastle, Australia (say, Hawaii)?

Had a great time. Not once during the evening did Roff spontaneously blurt out " Multiple threads merged, please follow the rules.". Still gotta post the new baby, got it from Vintage, post later today. I am proud to announce that after much conversation we are not one bit closer to figuring out the watch industry or the namesake of this forum. The Genta is impressive in the metal and the B01 needs no description here. When I buy next year it'll be cheaper scotch.

Or even "gentlemen, don't make me lock this thread." :)

I was amazed that by the time I got home, he had responded to several threads here. Now THAT's dedication.

Called out on my false modesty. ;)

I'll say this about the CM SE - pictures don't do it justice. It definitely got my attention from across the table.

Next time?

I just let Sharkman know that I was going to be in the area and he invited Scott along too (good job too - Scott's much better company  ). We went to White Chocolate Grill on Scott's recommendation and because it was convenient for my hotel.

Don't know what next year's itinerary will be yet - and with only 7 or 8 locations in the US I don't know whether we would move locations around a bit or go back to successful ones (which Scottsdale was), that's up to other minds to determine - I just show up where I'm told to

What exactly is it that you show up to? Is it speaking engagements for project management?

They are 2 day workshops organized by one of my clients - project management related, but this year's were around PMOs (project / program management offices), next year's topics TBD.
