Hi all,

You may recall I built an enclosure for my cat's as we had some close calls with my pets barely surviving fights with automobiles and foxes.

My wife missed their company on her deck when she sat for lunch, or merely sunbathed, so I decided to extend! This is a MAJOR task as I truly despise DIY. But she is an an amazing lady who put's up with me being away with work all the time, and she even insisted I bought my Navitimer.......So...I guess I owe her big time...

This is the result

Wishing you all a good week ahead

Hello!

Yep she is a charcoal Bengal, one of the original lines, newly recognised by the governing body
Etc etc etc....

I have 2 other little minxies....both Bengals. I'd love a Maine Coon but it would be bigger than my wife :D

We sleep easier now we knowing they are outside, but safe.

Nice, very neatly done. I build one onto a house for someone a few years back.

Nice going Davey. I'm a huge cat lover myself and think I may have said before that I personally like cats to be able to be totally free to come and go as they see fit, BUT I also completely understand your reasoning given the terrible situation when one of your cats was attacked by that fox.

And extending your already impressive enclosure shows nothing but love for your cats. Plus I'm suitably impressed considering you don't have any great love for DIY! Great work matey!

Thanks Driver,

I'm still sure they would prefer to be able to roam. I still feel mean. But we made the decision, and we sleep better!

The roof was the hardest part, and I had to change strategy as the wind was making using nylon mesh impossible, So I went and bought some lighter steel mesh, actually it looks better!

I only had one fall from the ladder due to the wind waiting until I was stretching just a little toooo far...

Cuts from trimming the steel mesh, and it recoiling.....and a few bruises from losing fights with the upright beams.

But all in all it was worth it.

Oddly, I found it much harder than the original enclosure, I don't think I was in the right frame of mind.

Thank you for your very kind comments 'tho. Much appreciated.

Davey

ps; Did you see the Horizon Doc where they monitored the 50 cats? Very informative!

I am not a cat fan but that's one awesome looking pus. Terrific job on the enclosure; I really like the color of the stain. Well done.

Hey,

Hope you and yours are well my friend.

The cat is a con woman. she tries hard to convince anyone in proximity to the fridge that she is being starved....neglected.....and generally abused...

But she is beautiful so who cares...

As for the stain....I now have a pair of jeans which have a similar color to them.....as did my body after the application...

Thanks for the post

Take care

Davey

Maybe, if I gave myself a year, I could make the chicken wire tunnel. The rest, no way. Excellent job.
