Hi, i ordered a Breitling calf leather strap and the seller told me that it has been shipped to Singapore last week. The tracking number he gave me is only registered mail, not EMS. Today i tried to track the package on USPS.COM and there's no information, it has been a couple of days and there's still no tracking information on usps.com. What could be the problem here ?

usps website says : Delivery status information is not available for your item via this web site. A return receipt after mailing may be available through your local Post Office

Anyway, that seller said that overseas buyers pay 17 USD extra for EMS, but he shipped the item out via registered mail only, so i sent him a request for 17 USD refund.

If i'm not mistaken, he shipped this item out on 23rd Nov, today is 27th and no info on usps.

From the USPS site:

Tracking Registered Mail (International)

Registered Mail cannot be tracked through the mailstream and will not provide updated scans. However, it does provide delivery information with a delivery scan showing the delivery status or attempted delivery information which can be retrieved in three ways:
•By going to http://www.usps.com and selecting “Track and Confirm.” Entering the Article Number shown on the mailing receipt into the lookup field allows you to view the delivery status of the article.
•By calling the Postal Service™ Track and Confirm service at 1-800-222-1811
•By bulk electronic file transfer for mailers who provide an electronic manifest to the United States Postal Service®

USPS sucks overseas. When I sold a boat load of Breitling straps..well, just ask Watchfred or Goonermike or Admin. It took foreeeeeeeeeever and I paid extra for Priority mail.

for registered, anything below two weeks is a pleasant surprise, three normal.
then, of course, it can be stuck in customs, for a week or more.

I had a pair of mountain bike wheels shipped from the US (Indiana, if I recall correctly) to Sydney by USPS. They took a bit more than 3 weeks and tracking updates during that time were pretty minimal.

Don't think you've got anything to worry about here.

US Registered is slooooooow. Like, it can take over a week just to go across the US or more. With that said, Registered Mail is usually very secure. From what I have been told, one of the reasons for its slower transit is because it is locked up separately (i.e.: a safe in the plane) and only certain people can work with it along the delivery route (i.e.: not all planes can move it). It is important to note that the USPS' tracking system is rather misleading because on almost every service, the tracking is not real-time, and it can take very long to update (sometimes you get the item before anything is ever updated). As far as Registered Mail goes, there actually is no tracking, only confirmation of delivery. So I would not worry.

I have had several items shipped via USPS to Taipei and Hong Kong this year and have had a very positive experience.
In all cases pretty much in a matter of a few days.
Last one about a month ago was also registered mail and tracking was also not available but it arrived in HK in under a week.

I have noticed that it takes much longer for the system to update international dispatches. I do not often get parcels from oversea. But even though I have to admit that it takes much longer for such deliveries to arrive than the forwarder usually estimates. Possibly it is due to the delays at the customs. Otherwise, I have no idea what can be the reason for it. You should also track it on the site, but you should know how to navigate here to get update.

Phew, well at least CivilLawyer can now sleep soundly and get on with tracking his 7-year-delayed package! Thanks for that valuable insight and contribution fertooos!

I would think it will take more than that cause during this panademic it's really hard you will get it anytime soon. I also wonder if everybody's internet is working proper these days because when ever i am downloading something or watching online films it takes time to open it or if i use vpn than it takes more than 15 minutes to properly load the whole website.
