I have to say I prefer the sound of the E60 V10.

I am disappointed BMW has decided to utilize forced induction throughout their entire model range.

Although I totally agree with you on forced induction or turbo, a V8 engine has a better melody and is more "balanced" than a V10.

As for the use of turbos, it was a "forced induction" BMW had to follow to comply to CO2 emissions and thus lower the range's average in order not to pay hefty penalties in countries like Switzerland, for example or in California. That is also why the famous in-line Six has been abandoned in favor of a 4 turbo in the 1, 3 and even 5 series. A real shame, if you ask me. But the environmental ayatollahs rule.

Oh god I love my twin turbo 6 in my 135i. There is no reason not have have a big engine and forced induction as far as I can tell! <3

When I take the X5 out (wife's) I absolutely miss the snap of the turbos.

I'm all for forced induction!

I know the feeling Justin. Especially since there is almost no turbo lag anymore. Still, the in-line is smoother.

And don't get me wrong, I HATE diesels but what a feeling when I tried the tri-turbo M550d. A real kick in the butt.
