One big cause for battery draining is the background app refreshes. Make sure you have that turned off.

So I just shut off background app refresh, It says it should preserve battery life hoping it helps, I'm sure it will if it helped yours, thanks for the info

not IOS7-related but as we do not have a seperate thread for the 5s:

just a short note to my fellow IOS wristshooters - have received a 5s last week and tested it extensively, with very surprising results. The "vastly improved" camera was the only reason I decided to upgrade, but for my - very niche - application the old iphone 5 was clearly superior, the 5s does not focus as well in relatively low light wristshots.

Back up for sale, staying with my old 5.

That's pretty surprising. I do think the slow motion effect is pretty cool. I have been playing around with it on my wife's 5S. Just throwing my daughter up in the air is very cool in slow mo!

man, I've been getting much shorter battery life with iOS 7. Had to go in and turn off everything that iOS 7 turned on without me asking--bluetooth, graphic motion, app updating in the background, etc, etc, etc. There was maybe 10 things.

I STILL can't reliably get the control center to swipe up from the bottom of the screen on any of my Apple devices. Only happens maybe once every 10 tries.

Other than that, I do like lots of the iOS 7 stuff.

Different topic, but now that iPads are getting 128GB sizes, I hope that we'll see that in the next iPhone.

Are you swiping from off of the bottom of the screen, just above the home button? It works best when you start off of the screen completely. Hope that helps with the control center.

A little off topic, but is anyone going caseless on their phone? I made the switch today and love it so far. I do have Apple care which covers me through oct. 2014. With that it's a $50.00 replacement if I destroy my phone. It's worth the gamble for me! Any thoughts on going "naked?"

used to go caseless w/ my 1st i5, but no way not to scratch the black anodized frame; the new 5s leather case is of exceptional quality & "feels" great, worth to try.

Fred, those do look nice. Maybe I'll pick one up to hide all of the scratches...
