Mine is steeped in controversy. Some say it means 'young', some say it means 'from the yew tree' whilst others say it means 'warrior'. I have even found a reference to the meaning 'one who worries sheep'. Its almost certainly Celtic, and although I had no choice in the matter, overall I'm glad my father gave it to me.

It goes way back, to when I started using internet (believe it was in 1994 - when internet was mostly bbs). At that time I read as much "theological" books I could - thought it was interesting to see other peoples view on the world. So, I read the Bible, the Koran, the Book of Mormon, Bhagavad Gita, Tao-te-ching... Also read some more obscure/occult books, a few written by Aleister Crowley. In need for an internet nick, and possible to provoke a little bit it became aleister. It is then stuck and now I've been aleister for so long on the internet, a change would feel strange.

I've been using interweb forums for about 5years now and used screen-names that were fairly identifiable to my name. Chose to go down the more anonymous route when I came on here.

Saw VillageIdiot on an aviation forum I use and thought it was quite amusing. :)

Mine isnt very original and pretty self explanatory. Altair, im not sure if you are the gaming type, but the main character from Assassins Creed is also named Altair. I havent played it, but the commercials on TV here in the states made it look amazing. Just figured Id share that with you.

Despite having lurked on this forum for months before joining, I never gave any thought to my login name. When it came time to join, I sort of panicked, since I didn't have anything cool or catchy. We had been chuckling over that Saturday Night Live skit at work recently, so MoreCowbell it was. Totally arbitrary.

I also recently discovered that somebody else on another watch forum had my exact same avatar. So I guess I need to freshen that up.

Mine is a way of linking my hobby of military aviation, which introduced me to Breitlings, with my first Breitling, a vintage Shark Chrono Quartz.

Avatar is the sharp end of a McDonnell F-4 Phantom II, my favourite airplane.
