Anyone off to the Farnborough Air Show this year? 14th - 20th July. I'm stuck with the 19th or 20th as I don't work in the aerospace industry (it's aerospace industry professionals only on the 14th - 18th), so I'll have to contend with the ridiculous crowds and screaming kids! Never mind - it's always a great day out.

I think the last time I went was when the An-225 visited the UK for the first time back in the 90's sometime. Been quite a few times over the years but I much prefer military shows rather than all the airliners/GA at Farnborough.

A mate used to be able to get trade day tickets for me. Do you want me to see if he can still get them?

Wild horses wouldn't keep me away from RIAT Fairford however. Not missed an IAT show since 1976! Good news is that with Farnborough now moved to be the week after Fairford, all the interesting military birds show up at RIAT.

Thanks for the offer Sharkmouth, but I actually don't think I can afford the time off work for a weekday visit to Farnborough, so it'll be the weekend for me. Cheers anyway.

I've never been to Fairford. Where is it?

OK, enjoy the show.

Fairford is just north of Swindon.

Be aware that unless you get there at 7am (which is when the car parks open), you'll be in a traffic jam up to 4 hours long to get into the car park! Even getting there at 7 means around a 2 hour queue to get in while security checks every bag. Understandable but a pain in the you know where!

I'll be there on Friday 18th. If anyone fancies a pint and a blether, let me know!

Sharkmouth,
I normally go to the 'Early Bird' car-park and get there about 5/6am. Get to the front end of the queue, well worth getting up for!
