This is for Spartan. Sorry the quality is not better. Here is a shot of my new Seawolf beside my AS Blacksteel, not the best photo. I might try this again tomorrow - a "family" portrait of my three Aeromarines, but my camera battery is recharging now:  Cheers, Carl ps I got a small ding on the Blacksteel, at "38" on the bezel. I am glad to know that under most light, it is not even visible. It does go right through to the metal. |

Yes, the Seawolf is heavier...not by a lot. Actually, it is even heavier than the Super Avenger - The SA is 153gr and the Seawolf is 159gr. I guess overall the Seawolf numbers are spaced further apart, due to the fact that there are no subdials, at 12, 6 and 9 o'clock, just the batons at 6 and 9 and the triangle at 12 o'clock. I with that I could capture the difference in the dial tones better. The Seawolf definitely has a matte, or dull finish. The Blacksteel dial is definitely shinier. The numerals seem to be identical, the white on both watches has a bit of a sheen. I am definitely now liking the Seawolf the best of them. When I look at it, and the simplicity, there is something nostalgic about it, that I got in my Colt Quartz, from 1992, and my SuperOcean, from 1997. It is the perfect upgrade for me. The case is thicker and wider, the dial is bigger, and the strap is also larger. The numbers are now stencilled, and there are markers and batons at 6, 9 and 12 o'clock. The watch is actually very comfortable. I notice no difference even from the Steelfish, which is thinner and about 2mm smaller. The only thing will be at work. I may continue to wear the Steelfish, as I am always getting my hand in machinery. The lower profile of the Steelfish makes it less susceptible to dings and scratches. Having said that, I really am not one to baby my watches. They are meant to be worn and enjoyed. I simply had to stop wearing the Blacksteel at work, because I realized that over time I could literally ruin it. The Ocean Racer strap just seems to be the ideal fit for the Seawolf, just as yours is. The rubber is nice and thick, and it really brings out the black in the dial. The clasp looks great, even polished, as the sides of the case and bezel are. My AD will brush the clasp for me at no charge, and I am thinking to just have the top of it brushed, and leave the sides polished to match the sides of the case and bezel. Part of me really wishes the whole thing was brushed like your titanium one. What do you think of my idea of just having the top of the clasp brushed to go with the rest of the watch? I can always have the rest done if I change my mind. You really can't see the details in the pics. There is a silver surround at the calendar, the batons at 6 and 9 o'clock and at the triangle at 12 o'clock. The Breitling logo at 12 o'clock is also nice and large and shines like the other silver bits. As Ian pointed out, the font that they use for the word "Automatic" really gives a touch of class and suits it very well, even though it is a diving watch. I love the large crown, which is like the Skyland. This one is polished, but it is still nice and easy to handle and looks very rugged. The back of the case is also a combination of brushed and polished, which nicely matches the rest of the watch. And, like Metal86 says about his, the square tip of the second hand, which is the only red on the watch, really stands out nicely. Like the Avenger Skyland, I think that the Ocean Racer strap is made for these watches. I always thought the Skyland looked outstanding with that combo. What more can I say? When my camera battery is recharged I will try for a better pic, and also a shot with my Steelfish as well. I guess I just did a review of the Seawolf, eh? I did ramble on a bit. I really love this small collection of mine. One of my loves is also the Colt Quartz. The only thing is, I find it rather small, and it may not get the wear. At some point, however, I think I will own one again. That is all for now, and to All a Good Night. I realize I am rambling again. Part of it is the red wine at dinner, and the Irish Whiskey after, but mostly it is just pure enthusiasm. Besides, if I didn't have this forum, I would have nobody to discuss these things with. Although it will likely never be in more water than the depth of my wash basin, it is impressive. |

I think the OR would look great on the Blacksteel. I think you could get away with not having the clasp blackened, if it was brushed entirely. It would match the case back at least, although you can't see that when the watch is on. However, the raised part of the back is visible when you raise or turn your wrist, and the brushed clasp would match that. Maybe I am getting too picky here, but I do believe it would work, but only if it was brushed. Don't ever get rid of the old Seawolf! If I could afford it, I would buy it from you, unfortunately it is out of the question, at least until next year. That is a beauty! You are absolutely right about a black croc, or black calf. It would look stunning! I played around with that a bit in the "Fitting" section of the Japanese website. To me, the calf leather looked a bit better, but they both have the white stitching which really suits it with the white numerals. This watch really is very surprising. It is probably one of the very most rugged watches made, and yet because of it's aesthetic appeal, it would be entirely at home sporting a leather or croco strap to dress it up. I would neve hesitate to wear this one with a suit or a tuxedo, should the occasion ever arise. When you see it in person, you realize how versatile it really is, and with the silver accents and the great "Automatic" font, really quite dressy. I am rambling again. I could go on about these Breitlings all night. I really should be selling these things! Cheers, Carl |

Carl - please continue rambling! Your passion for watches comes through every time and it always puts a smile on my face - especially knowing a little of your story that you've shared with us over the months. I love the look of that Seawolf and the OR really suits it. A watch like the Seawolf that has good size but a relatively simple dial always looks 'clean' to me and that really works! |

I thought it would be crazy expensive, but $44.95 I can afford! I know very little about photography, and I have a small Olympus Stylus 820. Every picture I take is with this setup and my $200 Canon Powershot SD1100IS camera. Just turn the cameras flash off and put it in macro mode (usually a flower icon). And snap away! |
