That subject line sounds rather kinky, hahaha.

Here´s the thing - I have a 24 mm OR strap that I would like to fit on a 22 mm sized watch in the near future.

Would the rubber strap be soft and flexible enough to be able to fit? Anyone tried?
Or would it be easy to very carefully slice of a small piece of the rubber by the lugs (using a scalpel or similar supersharp tool)?

Just playing with the thought here... any input is welcome.

And yes, I could always buy another OR strap, but since I with most certainty will only use it on 22 mm watches in the future, I´d rather not...

I would just put it up for sale and buy the correct size. Im sure you could cut it, but it would never be the same.

That is an option, yes...

BTW, can you buy just the rubber parts for an OR? The pricelist only specifies the OR, complete with deployant.
I mean, what happens if you should cut off to much of it when sizing it?

Yes, certainly.

Yes I believe just the rubber part (i.e. the strap itself) is very cheap - about £40 to £50 I think. Most of the expense of the complete OR goes into the clasp.

A BIT OFF TOPIC HERE BUT:

I once had a 20mm jubilee bracelet "shaved off" a bit in order to fit on my Rolex Air King Date; worked out without
any problem.... And the best part....after Rolex service, it looked much better; Rolex polished off for me and almost looked 100%.

I think i've seen a picture of this being done and it was fine. A little squashed of course.

Give it a shot - post pics and if it looks horrible, im sure someone will let you know. :)

Failing that you can then sell it off and get the correct size as also suggested.

You can absolutely buy the rubber separately. If I remember correctly my AD charged around 200 SEK for the rubber and 2500 SEK for the deployant.

The rubber is relatively cheap, but is the deployant the same size?

I think so.

Im pretty sure they both are 22mm at the clasp end.

IIRC, the OR comes in as small as 20/18, so there are definitely different deployant sizes. I just wonder about the difference (if any) between the 24 and the 22.

It would be certainly interesting to know if the same clasp would fit either 20,22 or 24 rubber straps. I've just put my clasp up for sale as it was an 20/18 and my new skyland is 22/20. It might be worth keeping it as the clasp alone is nearly £200.
