Hi

Yesterday (Feb 19) i bought a Transocean Day Date, love the look of the watch and didn’t like the look of it’s sucessor the Premier.

Over the past 24 hours I’ve noticed how loud the automatic winder is ! It’s really loud and I can hear it when I twist my wrist. It’s almost like it rattles when I shake it. I noticed it when I was in the Breitling dealership and tried another Transocean which was loud also. I have a Rolex and you can’t hear the automatic wonder at all.

Does anyone have any information on this ? Is it a manufacturer fault and the watch needs a service ?

Thanks so much in advance

The Transocean Day Date runs the B45 movement which is essentially an ETA 2834-2. A number of ETA movement are "fairly" noisy in comparison to certain others (e.g. Rolex's 3135 for instance), with the 7750 being one of the most renowned for it, but without hearing your watch first-hand it's difficult to say if yours is any more noisy that normal.

That said, if you tried another in the AD at the same time, and it sounded the same, then I'd say it's probably fine. I'm sure you'll get used to it over time, and TBH a lot of people actually like the fact you can hear the watch moving.
