Well today's the day. While I'll physically be in possession of them for a few more weeks I agreed to sell my last four remaining Breitlings to the same collector today so that's me out of the Breitling world. Still a few other watches left to sell before I head south, but no more Breitlings. I wondered how I would feel when it happened but I'm not remotely bothered - just another milestone on the road to a new life in the Caribbean!

Could not disagree more. Nothing remotely sad about trading material items for a much more relaxed lifestyle where time is less important to my daily routine.

Congrats. I'm assuming you're retiring down in the Caribbean? I remember there used to be good deals on watches down there, although that was ages ago. Not sure how I could resist. Hope you enjoy it down there!

Building a home on the beach on Roatan. I'm sure there will be deals in the duty free shops in the cruise ship ports on the island but as a resident I won't be allowed in them. I'll buy myself a g-shock for when I'm in or on the water and likely go watch less when lounging around if I have my phone with me. I'm still going to be working part time so will have days when I have appointments to make but otherwise it will be sun up and sun down driven!

Hopefully, this doesn't mean you'll be leaving here! Best of luck with everything in the Caribbean! 8)

Congratulations on the retirement and the move to the Carribean. Even though you are leaving the Breitling world, I hope that doesn't mean we will lose your knowledge and experience here. Many of us have sought and followed your advice and opinions in our watch journeys.

Congrats, a day to celebrate as a life on the beach sounds way better than a bunch of nice watches. Enjoy the change in lifestyle!

Sounds very relaxing. Congrats, and hope you still pop in here. You've contributed a lot to this site.
