Hi All, As ive said before im look at the Breitling Emergency as my next purchase. The big question is - lets just say my daughter manages to get hold of my watch and pulls out the aerial and starts the alarm?? I understand that once this is done the watch needs to go back to breitling to be reset and a new aerial installed. Id rather find out on here what would happened than finding out for real. Thanks guys and sorry if this question sounds a bit daft. Its my only concern about buying it. |

That and the huge fine for setting off a false distress signal. If you are not going to use the beacon I believe it can be disarmed. Otherwise treat it like a firearm. When not on you, it should be locked. |

The first thing that will happen is that a helicopter will start circling over the watch (no, seriously). The second thing is that you will be presented with a very large fine (around $50,000) The third thing is that the watch needs to go back to Breitling - seems fairly minor in the grand scheme of things It's not terribly easy to 'accidentally' activate the transmitter, you have to unscrew it, pull the aerial all the way out and then pull again, but it really will cause a major emergency response and a very large bill. |
