Post subject: | Changing watch hands |
I saw in an AD the other day the '08 airwolf. Didn't like the face as much as the original, but was interested in the new fully lumed minute hand. I was curious to see how it would look on my '07 model. The service centre said they wouldn't put a non standard hand on the watch. My question is, can a watch repairer or other party easily change these. ie get the part & put it on. I know B changes the hands at a major service anyway. Any suggestions. |

Getting the parts might be tough as Breitling only tend to make them available to Service Centres. However, if you could get hold of them, any competant watch-maker should be able to fit them for you. However, it's worth bearing in mind two things - firstly, non-standard parts will reduce the value of your watch for resale purposes and also may make people think it's a fake. And secondly, when you send it into Breitling for a service, the chances are they will replace the hands with the correct ones for your model as they don't like non-standard parts on their watches, as you have already found out. |

Especially as hands are single use so they would be replaced during service as a matter of course. |
