So esteemed Forum members-
Which Breitling has the best resale on the used market and why? From what I can tell, it's the Navitimer 01. What say you? For purposes of this discussion, I'd say take all into account, MSRP, discounts vs used prices etc.

None of them are particularly good at holding value. My experience has been that the few Breitling's I have purchased from Costco have held their value the best only because I can return them at any time and get my money back. I think Rolex has the best residual value but even a Rolex loses value over time.

For the sake of discussion, we are just comparing Breitlings vs Breitlings, which I believe it's OP's intention. I think the rare vintage pieces fetch the best resale values. However if you are referring to the models in the recent years(past 10 years), I personally believe the Navitimer 01 Limited Edition in particular is in higher demand and getting harder to find in the resale market.

Yes,strictly talking Breitlings. Was there more than one Navitimer 01 LE? And what about the cosmonaut?

Yes there are multiple Navi 01 LE versions out there. I believe the most recent 01 was last years Stratos Grey model. I also find that the LE Cossies do pretty well with resale.

The Navi 50th Anniversary wouldn't be part of these LE editions you are all talking about, would it?

There was the first 01 LE with the black dial, then the white/silver dial, and then the blue dial. All of these had 2,000 if I remember correctly. These seem to have held their value very well. Another model that used to hold value well was the Super Avenger. You could also look at the Steelfish from 7 or 8 years ago. The preowned Steelfish are selling now for what ADs were charging for them back when they were new.

The one Cossie that does well on resale is the display back version.

It's hard to say any others hold their value well, the key with Breitling is buying at the right price, whether you buy new or used.

There are many limited edition versions of the Navi but I am referring to the first one in particular. Not linked to any team/person. Black dial, almost like the regular version, except that it has a white date window with red numeral and also display caseback. That would be one of the most desirable in the future in my opinion. First limited edition of the first In-House Navi.

The Cosmonaut interests quite a bit. Also, the Navi LEs. Can you all provide me the actual ref # for these (LEs)?

Here's my Navitimer 01 Limited Edition. My favorite watch and I've owned over 60!. Imo, the most important LE as others have mentioned, it's the first Navitimer LE with an inhouse movement. The Navitimer already is the oldest mechanical chronograph continuously made and is a legend!. Add an inhouse movement to that and you have a very serious situation!. The reference for the original LE is AB012112.

Original cost/current resale the Steelfish 44mm is a good one. The black face has a better resale than the blue by a little I believe.
Frank.

And I know of one that's available if the OP is interested in that one.
