Post subject:  Registering a Gray Market purchase?

Hello all, new member here, with a question for the group:

Background: I recently acquired a BNIB Aerospace Evo Night Mission from an eBay seller. The transaction went great -- watch arrived new and perfect and still wrapped in its factory plastic stickers, and I saved a bundle versus buying retail at an AD. The watch came with its electronic warranty card, which was activated in Sept 2016, before I purchased it. The eBay seller (a very nice gentleman, we spoke by phone and hit it off well) has a cousin who works for a Breitling AD in Israel; this is his source for his watches, and that dealer is the AD named on the electronic digital warranty card.

Objective: I'd like to have the watch and its warranty officially registered to my name.

My question: In this age of the electronic digital warranty card, we are past the days of mailing in a post card to register one’s watch. So -- how have others in the USA handled this? I certainly can’t be the first one here to have bought a brand new watch, with an already activated electronic warranty card, from a gray market reseller. Shall I call Breitling USA and just ask them to register the watch to me? Or, once a warranty card is activated by an AD, it cannot be changed to a new owner? Or even worse, would BUSA negate my warranty altogether if I told them I bought it through a gray reseller?

Advice on protocols and what I should expect, and what I should do or not do, will be very much appreciated.

Oh -- and -- pics or it didn’t happen, right??

Cheers

Dave

Other than one of the Emergency range there is no registration, possession of the warranty is sufficient. Nothing for you to do.

The warranty registration follows the watch not the owner(s).

Thank you, sirs, for the kind replies! That's good to know. Although it would have been nice to at least get into BUSA's mailing list so I could get a free hat or whatever their current swag for new owners is these days! But the savings I reaped, versus buying at retail, far more than makes up for it.

Thanks again!

I purchased an aerospace likeley from the same guy a year ago. A couple months ago it actually started acting up and resetting itself every couple days. Took it to my local AD who sent it to breitling- it came back 3 weeks later after a full overhaul under warranty. Dealer asked if I saved a bunch buying in Israel on the exchange but that was all.

Yeah the Breitling warranty is worldwide and any authorized service outlet will have access to the service history of the watch.

To get on the Breitling "swag" lists you do need to send in the little postcard with your address, the jeweler's and sales associates name. I've done this three times and received two hats, the third is still in the mail (gift is TBD). The first one came with a card that said welcome to the Pilot's Club, the second welcomed me to the Top Gun Club (pic below)

A friends of mine has sent in probably 15 cards and now just receives random gifts of jackets, knives, backpacks, duffle bags, you name it!

The watch warranty is a separate process, and you should be good like others have said.
