I was fortunate to find one in lnib condition so I pulled the trigger. I was dead set on a satin finish navi and I must say I am extremely pleased.

I understand it is not technically a LE, and I was wondering if anyone knows how many of these were produced and if they are considered rare? I also couldn't find much on the cal 41 movement. Is it just the 23 with the addition of a quickset date? Thx.

It was a one year issue for the 48th (!) anniversary of the Navitimer in 2002. Pure speculation on the numbers, a couple of thousand or so I would guess. 41 and 23 are quite different, 23 is an integrated chronograph based on the Valjoux 7753, 41 is modular based on the ETA 2892-A2 base with a Dubois-Depraz chronograph module.

Roff, Thanks for the good info. I'll have to look into this whole 48th conspiracy. Lol

Congrats. I've been looking for a brushed Navi too. Yours is a beauty.

Just checked the manufacture date under the lug and it says 0203b4. I think that means it's technically a 51st (or 49th Roff!) anniversary.

Breitling 'year' ran (at that time) from Basel to Basel so would still be considered a 2002 model.

Resurrecting a zombie thread.

Are all 50th using the 41 movement? Is this an in house movement?

Thanks.

I saw that the 50th does, indeed, use a 41. The 41 is a modded ETA movement.

Since the base is an ETA movement, would it be considered an "in house movement"?

I presume not, but I am not well versed in movements so I ask the veterans on this board.

Thank you.
