Post subject: | Cleaning Question... |
I recently bought an Evolution and have had it for about a month. When I clean it I normally just wipe it down with a wet cloth. I just purchased some Cape Cod Polishing Wipes. How often should I use these? Isnt it bad to use wipes like these too much? I just wear my watch casually and dont do anything crazy with it on so I just want to keep it clean and shiny. Do you guys have any other suggestions/tips/comments on keeping your breitling clean? I know one member uses a toothbrush with toothpaste. I just dont want to overclean it or do anything that could actually damage the metal or watch, but I want it to look brand new at all times. Thanks in advance. |

Whatever you do, don't use toothpaste! A soft toothbrush, to get in between the links, combined with a soft soap and water is more than enough. I'm not familiar with the polishing cloths, but I wouldn't recommend using them on a daily basis. Maybe only when you feel it really needs it... If you don't abuse the watch it shouldn't get that horribly scratched up anyways! ![]() Take care, Vanessa |

Thanks... Yeah what are the rules of polishing? Once a month or something? I need some more longtime Breitling owners to respond here =) |

I honestly don't find I need to polish my B's more often than once every year if that, and even then its just with the cape cods. If i've bought an older one that's scratched up a bit then yeah I need to spend a good hour or 2 cleaning and polishing it yes. |

Any method to using the Cape Cod's? I just recently bought some of the pads and passively buffed a few of the links in my Pro II bracelet (more out of curiosity) for a few minutes. It didn't seem to have much effect in getting out the small scratches like I had read in an earlier post. More time? More elbow grease? |

Cape cod love? Is that some kind of love lotion that gets warm when you blow on it? ![]() Just kidding. ~Brian |
