Hi,
Has anyone since one of theses before? I purchased this in 2005 i believe it was released to commemorate September 11th but not really sure. Maybe someone on here could shed some light on this. As you can see from the picture of the rear it was made only for the American market and was limited only to 100.

Any help would be great.

Thanks
Roy

Welcome to BreitlingSource. It was a BUSA ordered limited edition restricted to US dealers, never hears of any 9/11 connection though. Standard mecha-quartz ratty reissue other than the caseback engraving and flag on the dial.

Welcome to BreitlingSource.

I'm pretty sure I read somewhere these were done after 9/11 and the dating on the bracelet would seem to support that.

To a degree, although bracelet was produced in early August 2001.

I had that version with the flag on the dial and currently have the same watch without the flag. In all other respects they are identical. Having read the 9/11 reference many times, IMHO it is unsubstantiated. When I owned the flag version, I researched the crap out of it and was never able to locate any Breitling generated support for that claim, just a bunch of forum chatter. I may be in the minority here, but I really like the display back with the engine turned mecaquartz movement. This may be the only rattrapante movement from Breitling in that 44mm case. Now if they had only made it in the titanium CA version of that case....

I checked with a friend that has one of these and he told me "They were sent to USA in late August. BUSA tried to pull them back, but distributors would not. Sold out in seconds." Nothing intentionally to do with 9/11.
