Post subject: | Please help! TO 1461 VS TO Chrono VS TO 1915 |
I'm at a crossroads, and hoping you guys can help make up my mind. At first I thought I wanted the 1461, but am drawn to the see through cases of the 1915 and TO Chrono. The fact that they are in-house with an extended warranty is icing on the cake. However, this will be my first watch in the 10k range and I want to make sure there are no regrets. I want it to be on the dressier side, but still capable of being an every day watch if I choose to do so. Which do you think is the most elegant? Which do you prefer overall? Which will better stand the test of time? I first piece that caught my eye was the TO 1461 with a white dial on a gold croc. The TO chrono two-tone or ss with the light dial on a gold croc are both beauts, and the 1915 on both the bracelet or strap looks very nice. What would you get? |

Well I'm not one who purchases a lot of dress watches, but of the three you mentioned I would choose the TO Chronograph in black dial (although white dial is nice looking also). This would seem to fit more of a every day piece, TO 1461 gets a little busy for that, and 1915 just doesn't do much for me. I also like the simple Omega Speedmaster and the black TO chrono has this similar look. Just me! ![]() Good luck with your decision. |

To be honest, buy the one the makes you smile the most. In house movements & extended warranties are important, but don't let that sway you from a watch that you love. Personally I'd choose the 1461. It is the less "logical" choice, but I just love it. Good luck ![]() |

I am somewhat biased in that I just picked up a TO 1915. Keep in mind that the 1915 is a manual wind while the others that you mentioned are automatics. Also remember that all in house movements carry a five year warranty that gives you extra peace of mind when it comes to servicing. The last check time I checked the cost of a basic service for the B19 movement, which is used in the 1461, thru Breitling, was close to $1000! That being said, go with the one that makes your heart flutter because most people always end up with another! |

Service fees never crossed my mind. 1k does seem high- what would service fees run for the B01 |

In house servicing is not going to be too much different from complications servicing. In terms of an in house complications piece, Breitling have given no indication that they have the ability and / or inclination to produce such a piece. |

Breitling lists their service prices on their website, you can check them out in the service section! |

I would get the transocean chrono. It has the B01, a display back, is more versatile to be dressy or casual, and is IMO the best aesthetically. The 1915 is cool but I wouldn't recommend a manual wind for your first piece. It's also IMO more casual based on the font style chosen. For me, the 1461 is too crowded (not in the good way like the navitimer) which reduced legibility too much. For me, I would better spend the money for a first piece on a more legible piece with great versatility like the transocean chrono. |

I love the TO 1461 and that would be my choice followed by the 1915. I think you'll find room to move on price on the 1461 when I'm not sure ADs will be as willing to move as much on the 1915. |
