I've been in the Breitling camp for a couple of months now. Love the watches but I've had disappointments. I have a Brushed Steel Crosswind that I love and a brand new Chronospace Automatic. The Chronospace automatic is going for its 2nd replacement with my AD. On both watches the Minute hand on the stopwatch does not reset to 0 but to 29min. On the replacement watch (the one on my arm at the moment) it worked fine for about 6weeks.

What do I do now. The Chronospace is my first love. So I can get the AD to replace this watch too. Hopefully I'm 3rd time lucky.

Or I could upgrade to a Navi 01 with the inhouse movement. I like the Navi but it's s bit more of a Dress Watch to me. Not sure if I will wear it every day. Mostly for work maybe.

Or my AD has a B50 that I like. He explained he would exchange the Chronospace for the B50 (no charge) if I want to. My problem with the B50 is its quarts.

Perhaps I should go for the 3rd replacement of the Chronospace and just buy a B50 later.

I don't know.

Any advice ?

The Chronospace Auto is equipped with a well proven cal 23 movement.
I think you have been extremely unlucky to be hit with the same problem twice unless Breitling QA has completely gone out the window in the last year or so.
Despite your bad experience with the Chronospace I would still have more confidence in it than the very new B50. There have been a few reports of teething problems with the B50 and even reports of recalls in order to upgrade the firmware. Only time will tell if these issues have been sorted.
The cal 01 inhouse movement has also seen some reports of issues initially. Not so many nowadays so it looks like Breitling may have sorted them out and they are offering a 5 year warranty in support of their confidence in the movement . I have three watches equipped with the cal 01 inhouse movement and I have had no problems with any of them and I find them extremely accurate .
As such, I would be getting the cal 01 equipped Navi with confidence.
Personally, I would be staying clear from the B50 for a year or two in the meantime.

thanks Wessa. Good advice. I'm going to see my AD this weekend and will discuss the 46 Navi with him. Hopefully he will give me a good price. Otherwise I will ask him to order another Chronospace from Switzerland. Perhaps I am third time lucky.

As wessa suggests, calibre 23 is the most reliable of those movements. Mechanical can also be repaired far easier than quartz.

Hi Roff. The Chronospace is my first love so I'm going to give it another try. Hopefully I'm third time lucky.
