I sent my Superocean 42 in on May 1st and they started work on May 2nd. They had to do a complete overhaul and said it would be anywhere between 4 and 6 weeks. Just called in BUSA today (which is 8 weeks) and checked on the status. They told me they got a large backlog in and it will be another 4 weeks! That seems absolutely ridiculous to me that they quoted 4 to 6 and will ultimately be 2 or 3 times longer than what they initially quoted. I tried asking for a discount or if they could put a rush on it and they acted like I asked for a free watch. Anyone else that has a watch in for service getting delayed services? My watch is out of warranty but being that I'm paying over 650 dollars to get this fixed, it would seem like I should've had it by now. I know I won't be sending my watch back to them to get future services done.

I can completely understand your frustration, but unfortunately warranty work always takes precedence over non-warranty work. If they've had a sudden run on warranty cases (or indeed just a large number of non-warranty issues) that would explain it.

I'm not making excuses for BUSA (who have a somewhat "patchy" reputation on many forums when it comes to CS) but ultimately they only have a finite number of staff who can undertake repairs, and if they've been inundated there's very little they can do in the short term.

Fingers crossed they will get yours back to you ASAP.

Thanks for the reply, Driver. She had mentioned they had received warranty work in after mine which was one of the reasons for bumping my date back. I figured since it was 2 weeks after the 4-6 week delivery window that it would be almost done. She said it will take another week or 2 for the service then 5 straight days of testing? What exactly is done for the testing that takes 5 days? This is the first time I've sent in my watch for overhaul.

Testing involves timing the watch in different positions for extended periods of time to ensure that it is regulated properly. Not a step that you want to skip.

My aerospace was in last year for a new battery and service - dropped off with AD in May and got it back September.

Wife's colt is currently in for a new battery and service - dropped off in March and that is due end of July.

So the position in the UK is just the same.

Sorry to hear. I hope you get yours back soon and it will be in pristine condition, making it worth the wait.

I think Omega wins here guys. Sent my PO 2500D for service, bezel and crystal replacement on week 1 and got it back week 4, after being estimated to take 8 weeks. Have heard other similar stories as well.

I've only had maintenance services done with BUK, but they've never taken that long.

I think Breitling has service issues. I sent my Submariner off for service last year and they quoted 5 weeks and got it back in just under 3 weeks. I know much more work is involved with complete overhaul vs. a tune-up but 3 times as long as quoted is just disappointing. I am leaving for Antigua next week and was hoping to have it back by then but looks like I'll have to make do with the Rolex. :D

I just had a watch come back from service today. It was sent in May 22 roughly and I got it back today 6/26/14. It was under warranty, only a week old so I may of gotten a rush on it because it was basically a new watch that stopped working.

I sent my Aerospace into SWS in Miami (authorized repair center) for an overhaul and had it back in 10 days. Not sending anything to BUSA anymore.

My Aerospace has been with Breitling Australia for nearly 10 weeks now for overhaul. Was told 8. I reckon 8 weeks is pretty rubbish: 10 is woeful.

Thanks for that info. I saved their contact info and will check them out next time my SO needs service.

That is terrible. I know I hate going anywhere else for service, but with that type of turnaround time, why wouldn't you?
