Hey guys,

Love my lings - have a few of them

What do you guys in Australia think of the price rise here? maybe priced themselves out compared to their competition. was interested in picking up a Transocean Unitime Pilot. RRP here is $14210!!!!

Me personally I wont buy another one here in Australia - will just wait till I go to the states on holiday/business.

Yeah, not good.

Price doesn't actually increase until Monday. So you've got 3 days!

And some ads can be a bit "slack" when it comes to putting new prices on their watches.

with the increases and the amount of supply on the secondary market i would never buy another Breitling new.

I totally understand why Breitling is doing this but as a consumer at this current price point the watches are just not for me.

I understand price increases. I was more at the point of us Aussies with the price disparity.
The unitise pilot is roughly 11k rep is the USA correct me if I am wrong.

Our dollar has not dropped that much to justify nearly 3.5k difference.. with the change I can also go get a incredible nomos

I've never bought a breitling new. Closest to it was my navi world which was a gift & even it was 2 years old. It came from an AD though. It's getting to judgement time on value for many by the sounds of it, but with every price increase comes a certain amount of shock value. Question is, will this deter those who crave a new breitling or will the price point be the cost of getting into the maker! Time will tell.

As far as I am aware prices are increasing pretty much everywhere. This isn't a currency adjustment increase, it's a 'screw 'em for every penny we can get' increase.

I think it is to account for the commodity price increase in rubber and DLC. :poke:

 I like your thinking Boney, but if the current Chronolog is anything to go by, I don't think there's a world shortage of DLC or rubber just yet. :poke: In fact, I hear that on the back of this, scientists the world over are looking at whether rubber and DLC can be used instead of fossil fuels in the next generation of power stations. :poke:
