It seems to be in titanium of course (see the crown color please!)
I will ask the Breitling boutique in Paris (France) if like for the Pluton serie they will do a discount for the 1st Emergency owners (E56121.1 model) to get a new one at very good price.
The antena seems to be the same, but the design is quite different

Hello,

Great news, the new Emergency II will be available at BaselWolrd, April 24th 2013
As an onwer of this Watch, I got this mail today from Breilting, see below

Dear Breitling Emergency owner,
We are pleased to inform you of the launch of the new Emergency II to be presented on April 24th at Baselworld 2013.
Launched in 1995, the Emergency - and its civilian version Emergency Mission - was the first wristwatch with a built-in emergency microtransmitter.
The Emergency has been tested and worn in daily use by the finest aviation professionals and the world's greatest aeronautical teams. It has proven its worth in many search and rescue operations and has become synonymous with safety and reliability for pilots around the globe.
Building on this successful and extensive experience, Breitling has achieved a new and unprecedented technical feat in presenting the Emergency II:

Thank you for flying Breitling

I don't know actually Alan - the teaser picture on the other thread (and above) looks quite restrained and in keeping with the outgoing model.

(But then we all loved the teaser pics of the Unitime too!)

Most of the time it is actually a good thing, stops my kids from spending countless hours on them.
Anyway, the Emergency 2 will not be for me unless, as sharkman's put it, I wear it on my calf.
From what I heard it will be huge.

There's really not that much to see, basically it's a short clip of a pilot about to go down in a remote area, there is a quick flash of what seems to be a PRO III bracelet. At least that's what I got out of it!

That "PRO III" bracelet looks similar to an oyster bracelet.

Getting very excited.

I'll be happy as long as there isn't any rubber, and it isn't blacksteel :-)

$7,000 for a quartz... Seems a bit crazy to me.

I'm much more likely to buy a PLB. I guess I just don't get the appeal of the Emergency.

I 100% agree.
I have no idea what the current list price is for the Emergency but looking at the 2011 price list on this web site it says $5740 head only. Add the cost of a bracelet, price increases plus the "new technology" premium, $7K is probably not far off :-(

I'm pretty excited to see this piece. At 7 k though I probably won't bite unless my AD gave me a serious discount.

While I won't ever own an Emergency, this is rather exciting.
