Post subject:  I'm so confused!!!

How's it goin guys! Let me start by saying this is my first post and I'm really glad to have finally joined. So here's my dilemma: a few weeks back, it sort of just dawned I me I need a great watch! I did tons of research and ended up with a Tag Heuer F1 Grand Date. At first it seemed like a nice watch, but as soon I actually understood what I purchased, may forums were saying that Tag Heuer is just an over priced quartz fashion brand! Hence, I listened and returned it asap which lead me hear. Now comes my true confusion: I live downtown Chicago and narrowed down my choice to a Superocean 44 on steel with the white second hand, but I don't know WHERE TO GET IT!!!! I know that Torneau is an AD, and I went there and they won't budge on pricing. I've read tons of forums stating that most AD's can go as high as 30% off!! Where is that? I also read a post that pointed me towards Alan Furman & Co which advertises 23% off all Breitlings, but the didn't have mine in stock and would take a few weeks. Is the grey market an option for you guys? I would like papers and a dealer stamp with my warranty, but is it truly necessary since these watches are so well built? I'll have to send it in for servicing in 3 years anyway for around $800 anyway right? Sorry for the rambling guys but I just really want to buy this watch. Any help from online dealers or reputable grey market dealers would be q huge help guys. Thanks in advance!!!

I would never but grey market in the US, ADs can get close or do better, although the days of 30% are largely in the past as Breitling has squeezed dealer margins. Tourneau is well known as being an AD to avoid, but the resolution is simple. Contact member jnelson3097 for contact details of Govbergs in PA or contact member FEAR for Provident in FL. Either will look after you and both have many, many satisfied customers here. Welcome to BreitlingSource.

Roffensian-thanks for your advice and I will surely pm those individuals. I would gladly buy it right now if they have it 23% off or more as that is what one dealer quoted. They just wouldn't have it for a few weeks and I'm ridiculously impatient, lol.

He spoke with breitling directly and they're shipping it out tomorrow and it'll be here Thursday! He's even throwing in some cool b'ling stuff. Can't thank eveyone here enough!

The ADs on this forum are great resources for both great pricing and great service! Be sure to post pics...it's a really cool watch. Nothing wrong with Tag but the SO44 is in a completely different class and I think you will like it a LOT more. The first thing you will probably notice is how well the bracelet carries the watch and how comfortable it is...it's incredible how well-designed they are! (on a side note, my first higher end watch was a Tag)

Welcome! I have same watch as you and I'm loving it! My other watches don't get anymore wrist time. Can't wait to see your wrist shots.
