Post subject: | Skyland Avenger |
Its my birthday in a week and was wondering what better gift for a man than a watch ![]() Okay, I have always been fascinated by Breitlings over say Tags or Omegas (which I have!) and intend to buy one, finally. I love the Skyland Avenger with a black dial and a diver's pro strap. Though, I love steel straps over any other material, I just love the diver's pro strap. Would anybody be in a position to give me a ballpark figure for a Skyland Avenger, so I know I am not ripped off. In India, I was told it was 209000 for Diver's Pro (roughly USD 4900) and 228000 (USD 5300) for Professional Steel. Is this a bit pricey? In about two weeks I will passing Singapore airport to Australia and was told there is a Breitling showroom at Terminal 2. Also, should I look for it in Australia? Would really appreciate it if someone could help here. Please let me know as soon as anyone can about the rates (even though variable in different countries and places) for the same. Thanks in advance. Mardi. |

I bought my Skyland from the US for £2100 or $4170 US that included $80 shipping fee! That was the cheapest I could find! Great watch tho, well worth the money and the wait! |

Mardi, That is a bit steep. I'm going to order a Skyland this week from my regular AD, here in Michigan. Retail price is about $4500. With my discount I'll be paying $3400, plus tax. A very reasonable price for a gorgeous watch. Look a little further before you bite the bullet. I know you can do better than the prices you quoted. Good luck. Steve ![]() |

Thanks for your immediate responses everyone. Ah well, so I am paying close to USD 1000 extra huh? Well, I live in India and its hard to find stores that sell Breitlings primarily and offer a discount. They are usually sold at upmarket stores making it almost impossible to ask them for a discount. So, my option would be look up a store passing through Singapore or Dubai, eh? Well, I ended up calling the retailers that are featured on the Breitling website and they have a similar quote, around INR 200,000 mark. So not much luck. Will I be able to bargain at the store in Singapore or I need to pick that up at the quoted price? Any ideas? It suddenly feels watch buying is a lot more complicated than I had imagined it to be. Dang. And I so want that piece of time as my birthday gift! |

Welcome aboard! Yeah, I would be paying around $3400-3500 in steel as well so you are definitely getting quoted a high price in your neck of the woods. Try some of the other threads around here that mention "limited time discounts" ![]() |

Breitlings are only sold in high end stores. That has nothing to do with asking for a discount. Showing up in person so that they see you are serious may yield different results. mardegrass wrote: Thanks for your immediate responses everyone.

Yeah mardegrass Wealthy people don't get wealthy by wasting money! Even millionaires ask for discount - in fact I'll bet they drive a hard bargain in the upmarket stores. Go for it! |

Well, all those rates that have been mentioned are for new Skylanders with a COSC certificate, manual and warranty, hmm? Could anybody give me the contact details of a few ADs in the US that I can have someone approach to buy me a Skylander and have it delivered to India. Would really appreciate those details. Cheers, M. |

mardegrass: I think you've fallen in the old trap of comparing US prices to the rest of the world. That's undoable. You won't find a local non-US AD to match these prices. In Sweden, the retail price for an AS is $5500. With good relations it might be negotiable down to $4950. In Japan, the retail price would be $5100, with good relations negotiable down to $4800. I'd say that your quoted price isn't that bad. (All prices with a Pro II bracelet.) |

Thanks Aleister. I know I am doing that @ comparing US rates with the rest of the world. Anyways, some of the guys on here have been helpful and gave me some AD details in the US. So I am going to have someone check out the pieces and have it delivered to me in India through a friend visiting from the US. But how do the US AD's match the price while the rest of them cannot? Is it the taxes or are they of dubious nature? So, this is definitely NOT going to be a birthday gift, sadly ![]() |

It sounds like you're having a plan. Good, even if you won't get it till your birthday. US Breitlings are as legit as any other Breitling. How they manage to get those prices, I don't know. It may partially be taxes, partially that the MSRP from Breitling is set lower for the US. Why, I can't think of. |

I got mine for a little less than US$ 3,100 in Jakarta Indonesia. I showed them my cockpit crew ID and asked for a discount! India is a rip off. Its madly overpriced. |
