Post subject:  making sure a breitling is not reported stolen

I am in the process of buying a used breitling. The seller has all the paperwork and the receipt. I still want to confirm with breitling that the serial number has not been reported stolen. (maybe the seller is doing an insurance fraud as far as I know) .. I called breitling today and they refused to tell me if the serial is reported stolen or not. They told me I have to send it in to have it confirmed.

What to do??

Not sure whether it is still the case, but Breitling would always provide that info to an AD so if you can arrnage to exchange the watch at an AD they may be able to check for you.

Hard to do if same seller wroten a resit that the watch is sold to you
If you buy on the net tell the seller to take a photo of the watch laying on a daily newspaper along whith ID and e mail this to you

Then you can't go wrong

If he decide to commit a crime you can provide a document that is like a rock
