I'm interested in picking up a Navitimer Montbrillant Olympus. The best price I can get in the US right now is about $6000 (about 3860 euros). Will be passing through Switzerland and Austria soon. Is there any point in trying to buy over there (that is, is the price substantially better?). |

Without knowing for sure (but Alien can give you exact figures) I think any retailer in Europe will have difficulties matching US prizes. |

Everythings is around 25-30 % more expensive then in US |

It depends a little bit on Your price increase in the US. An Olympus here in Austria costs €5590 on a strap. You will get the tax back at the airport (which comes to about 15,5%) and You can calculate a discount (app. 10%, maybe more  ). That brings it to app. € 4250,- which is about US$ 6626,- at the present exchangerate (not calculating cost of exchange). The problem on this calculation is of course the weak US$...
So, how much is the pricing in the US? BG Thomas |

hello! i read my breitling book for the price. i don't know if the book are the same in usa but the numbers for the watch are: 130 = 7840.-Sfr => 7470$us 131 = 8730.-Sfr => 8318$us 132 = 7520.-Sfr => 7165$us 133 = 7840.-Sfr => 7470$us 134 = 21540.-Sfr => 20523$us you can have 10-12% reduce, but for the customs and stranger, i don't know the price. i hope that i can help you ! greeting from switzerland |

Comparing North American and European prices is a little dangerous as European prices generally include taxes, while North American prices exclude them, but even so, there is still a strong likelihood that North America is the better place to buy. Of course if the US dollar recovers then things may change. |

I'll be settling down in Japan, meaning I'll be entitled to shop when in Sweden (for holidays) taxfree... So, given my relationship with my AD, that saves me roughly 20-25 % depending on which watch. Avoiding tax saves another 25%. The years in Japan could be really sweet clockwise... And yes, I'd be supposed to pay Japanese tax of course. But since that is 5%, it's much less than the 25% in Sweden. |

We were in Geneva a couple of months back and I made the family take a detour to the shopping district to check out the watches. They humored me for about an hour. Since the dollar and the Swiss Franc are currently about equal in value, I expected the prices to be fairly equal. They were not that close, adding in the taxes, which others have mentioned above. I think most people can do much better in the U.S. and in some cases, online, depending on the brand. I also met a watch store owner when we were in the Virgin Islands a few years ago who has been willing (occasionally) to allow me to purchase watches from his store by ordering online through him. Honestly, that is the cheapest place for watches that I have ever been (tons of AD's), but Saudi Arabia, Hong Kong and Bahrain also had some good deals! |
