Hi guys My Cosmonaute A22322 has a leather strap and i will be looking to replace it at some point moving forward, but at the moment it smell where it is on my wrist!! Sounds gross i know, i cant afford the bracelet so will be replacing it with another leather strap but the way i see it is that with a new strap it will only start sweating up again. I know this isnt exclusively a Breitling problem i was just wondering how you can go about cleaning it - the white stitching is also fading so it needs a good wash. Any ideas at all ?? Thanks in advance |

A good leather treatment product could help you a long way. Also, as you suggest, it might need a "wash". Just don't soak the leather strap while cleaning it, instead use a moist towel or cloth. Think of it as taking care and cleaning of a pair of leather shoes. You wouldn't throw those in the tub while cleaning them, would you? Good luck! |

Even if you didnt want to bother doing it yourself, you could probably take it into a shoe repair shop and have them clean and condition it for you. |

The smell is bacteria (and it will happen with watches and straps and to an extent bracelets) with any'red blooded man/woman'. You can use an alcohol hand cleaner on the back of the strap or... Personal hygiene spoiler alert!!!!!!!!! I use a non Aluminium deodorant which kills the bacteria (and is better for you) so I also use this on a smelly watch strap - works a treat. And it does not block your pores or those of your watchstrap.... |
